The goal of the Bible Gallery Project is to collect and digitize pictures from old Bible related books, cards, posters, and other printed material that are no-longer copyright, then make the pictures available for free in digital form online, so people around the world can enjoy them, and use them for things like teaching the Bible to both adults and children.
The Bible Gallery images are primarily sourced from a private library in Sydney, Australia. The collection currently contains around 3000 illustrated public domain Bible related books ranging from the 1500s to 1900s:
The project is in early stages of getting the images into digital form and making them available to the public. This not-for-profit project was started by Terje Ronneberg, and has been helped along by volunteers at various times. Volunteer help is always welcome, and free accommodation in Sydney, Australia is available to a limited number of volunteers.
